stickswithitPepper is just shy of 1k (CLOSE ENOUGH FOR ME), so I'll do the questions/first impression meme for anyone that wants it!

Date: 2013-12-21 10:16 am (UTC)STEVE IS SO CUTE. Pepper finds him to be so wholesome and his politeness is so adorable. Though, she is glad she they've slid into first term names. (As am I . . . I mean, come on, Mr. Rogers. Though, in retrospect, she probably should call him Captain? idk, idk. ANYWAY.) The switch from just acquaintances to friends has been interesting. Being thrust in like she was and going into Responsible Adult mode kind of kicked her relationship with Steve and Bucky into a closer spot.
ALSO, when she thinks about it, the whole fact of Steve coming out like that is really kind of a Big Thing. Since she realizes he's still adjusting to current events and how the world has changed. Though, she did realize that partially at the time and figured it wasn't something she needed to make a big deal over, either. But the point is that him telling her left a very good impression on her?
Sheeeee kind of right now does feel closer to Bucky, but is glad that BOTH of them don't feel threatened by her getting close? I mean, she knows that they know she is currently in a relationship with Tony, but that still certainly doesn't stop boys from being jealous or weird about lady friends. Even if the boys act like irrational kids, in this case, it's like OH GOOD, THEY'RE BEING RATIONAL ADULTS FOR ONCE.
But as mentioned above, she is extremely grateful for Steve having been there with Tony. Hopefully Steve knows how much that means to her, but she will also probably try to properly express that. 'cause honestly? She doesn't know how Tony would have survived without someone taking care of him. And not just in the eating/sleeping part of it. He'd be even worse off emotionally if he had to go it alone. So. "thank god 4 u, steeb."
ALSO, SORRY ABOUT THE ENGAGEMENT PARTY. She didn't want to make a big, huge deal out of it and that dinner (ALBEIT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN AWKWARD) was supposed to be low key. She is so sorry she was out of sorts from having just gotten back to camp and didn't even think about who they were dealing with in this case. She'll make it up to you. To both of you. Promise. And by that, make sure Tony doesn't do something horrible by making a ridiculous mock wedding or something at some point.

Date: 2013-12-22 04:13 am (UTC)As much as it breaks her heart that, in many ways, he has moved on, she is also happy that Steve was able to live. Not just survive. Not just trooper on and fight bad guys and save the world, but actually live. It took her off guard, but whoever makes Steve happy is what is important. It doesn't matter what the person's sex is. Especially since times have changed so much and she's still living in his past. Despite the fact that she will always, always hope for another dance, she is glad Steve here has his own dance partner.
The one thing she hopes is that now he has more sense of closure. That the one final meeting between them here was enough to help him close that chapter in his book and there wouldn't be anything lingering or potentially getting in his way. She cares too much about him to be a lingering regret. And she also hopes she wasn't that kind of thing, even before she came.
No matter what her future brings, she will always love Steve. Not Captain America, but Steve Rogers. After all, why else would she keep a picture of a scrawny boy from Brooklyn around?
